India vs South Africa: After recovering from a neck injury, India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill has been declared fit and has been cleared to take part in the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.
The media reports stated that Shubman Gill has completed his rehabilitation at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
It seems now that Shubman Gill will be returning to the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa. Earlier, Gill was added to Team India's T20I squad for the South Africa series, but his participation was contingent upon fitness clearance. Gill was also named as the vice captain for the Men in Blue side in the 20-over series.
According to the report from India Today, the 26-year-old batter has met all the fitness and performance criteria which are required for him to make a return for the Indian Cricket Team.
Earlier in the first Test match of the series between India and South Africa in Kolkata, Shubman Gill suffered a neck injury, which forced him to miss the second Test match against South Africa and the ODI series.
The five-match T20I series between India and South Africa is set to kick off on December 9 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. The action will then move to the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, which will host the second game on December 11.
The third encounter is scheduled for December 14 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Following that, the teams will clash in the fourth match on December 17 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
