India vs South Africa: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-member Team India squad for the forthcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa.
Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya have made their return to the T20I squad after recovering from respective injuries.
Gill sustained a neck injury during the first Test match of the series between India and South Africa in Kolkata. Following this, Gill missed the second Test match against South Africa and the ODI series. However, the 26-year-old's participation in the five-match T20I series against South Africa will depend on his fitness.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya was suffering from a quadricep injury. He has been sidelined from the field after the conclusion of the Asia Cup 2025. Earlier, on November 29, Hardik Pandya received a clearance from the BCCI's Centre of Excellence after recovering. Currently, the Indian all-rounder is taking part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 with Baroda.
Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been added to the squad as the wicketkeepers for the upcoming 20-over series against the Proteas.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is back in the Indian Cricket Team for the T20Is. He missed the ODI series against South Africa, but will be back in the Blue jersey for the T20Is. However, Mohammed Siraj has been rested for the T20Is against the Proteas.
The five-match T20I series between India and South Africa is set to kick off on December 9 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. The action will then move to the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, which will host the second game on December 11.
The third encounter is scheduled for December 14 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Following that, the teams will clash in the fourth match on December 17 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
The series will conclude with the fifth and final T20I on December 21 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
