Maharashtra Board Exams 2025: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has officially released the dates for the Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) board examinations for the academic year 2024-25. In a significant shift, the board has decided to conduct these exams eight to ten days earlier than in previous years.
For Class 12 students, including those enrolled in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Higher Secondary Vocational Course programs, the written examinations will take place from Tuesday, February 11, 2025, to Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Prior to the written exams, practical, oral, and internal assessments are scheduled from Friday, January 24, 2025, to Monday, February 10, 2025.
Class 10 students will sit for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams starting from Friday, February 21, 2025, to Monday, March 17, 2025. The practical and internal assessments for these students will be conducted from Monday, February 3, 2025, to Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Traditionally, the HSC exams begin in the third week of February, with SSC exams starting in the first week of March. Results are typically released by the end of May or the first week of June. However, this year, the board has advanced the examination schedule.
Sharad Gosavi, chairman of the state board, explained the rationale behind this decision: “The board has advanced the exam schedule to ensure a smoother admission process for the next academic year, provide students with ample time to prepare for entrance exams, and expedite the supplementary exams and results for students needing retakes or grade improvements."
Anuradha Oak, the secretary of the state board, added, “To help reduce student stress, the board has released the exam dates well in advance. Detailed subject schedules for practical tests, oral exams, internal assessments, and written exams will be announced separately on the Board's website.”
The board has also invited any objections or suggestions regarding the announced dates. These can be sent via email to secretary.stateboard@gmail.com before Friday, August 23, 2024.
