The district went to the polls on November 6 in the first phase. It consists of two assembly seats - Suryagarha and Lakhisarai. It witnessed a voter turnout of 64.98 per cent.

With the BJP's Vijay Kumar Sinha leading the chart, it seems he will be acquiring the position for the fourth time in Lakhisarai. He is leading the chart with a margin of 12,451 votes against INC's Amaresh Kumar.
BJP's Vijay Kumar Sinha is leading again, with INC's Amaresh Kumar following closely. Sinha is at 6151 votes, while Kumar is trailing with 5363 votes.
