SSMB29 GlobeTrotter Event: SS Rajamouli’s Film Titled Varanasi, First Look Teaser Shows Mahesh Babu In Rudra Avatar

The wait is finally over! SS Rajamouli’s film starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran is officially titled Varanasi. After tentative titles such as SSMB29 and Globetrotter, Rajamouli revealed the film’s final title and first teaser at a larger-than-life event in Hyderabad.

In a major shift in film promotion, SS Rajamouli’s action-adventure GlobeTrotter launched with a historic digital-first grand premiere as the film’s first look and teaser streamed live on JioHotstar today from 7 pm.

During the event, the three-minute-long teaser revealed superstar Mahesh Babu’s character. He was seen riding an ox while holding a trishul. Fans celebrated with excitement as the first glimpse of their favourite star was cast on a massive 130-foot cut-out at Ramoji Film City.

The film also stars Priyanka Chopra will be playing Mandakini, and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing Kumbha. The makers have not announced the release date yet.

When the glimpse of Varanasi played at the venue, fans also spotted a new tag under the title: TimeTrotter. This has sparked curiosity about whether the story includes time-travel elements.

Alongside the cast, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mahesh Babu’s wife, Namrata Shirodkar, and their daughter, Sitara Ghattamaneni, all arrived to cheer for him. Namrata wore an elegant black and ivory saree, while Sitara chose a gold outfit. Director S.S. Rajamouli’s family also arrived and took their seats in the front section near the stage.
