Mumbai: An IndiGo flight travelling from Kuwait to Hyderabad made an emergency landing at the Mumbai Airport on Tuesday after authorities received a bomb threat via email.
According to reports, Hyderabad Airport first received the threat alert, which warned of a ‘human bomb’ onboard the aircraft. A similar detailed message was also received at Delhi airport, prompting security agencies to initiate emergency protocols.
The flight was diverted to Mumbai, where it landed safely. It was immediately moved to an isolation bay, and security teams carried out a thorough inspection. No suspicious object has been found so far.
Emergency responders, bomb-disposal squads and CISF personnel were on standby throughout the operation.
The airline IndiGo, in its statement, confirmed that a security threat was received for IndiGo flight 6E1234 operating from Kuwait to Hyderabad on December 2, 2025, due to which the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. “Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft is cleared for operations. We made all efforts to minimise inconvenience to our customers including offering them refreshments and sharing regular updates. As always, safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft are our topmost priorities,” the statement read.
More details awaited.
