Baramulla: A suspected grenade attack took place near Police Post Old Town, Baramulla, on the intervening night of March 4-5 at around 2120 hours. A blast-like sound was reported from the rear side of the police post, triggering security concerns. No casualties or damage were reported in the incident.
Following the explosion, police teams, in coordination with other security agencies, swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
At approximately 2240 hours, security personnel recovered a grenade pin outside the boundary wall of the police post. Based on initial findings, police suspect an attempted grenade attack. The explosive reportedly detonated inside the premises but did not cause any harm. The exact impact location is yet to be confirmed.
A thorough investigation has been initiated, and search operations in the vicinity are ongoing.
