New Delhi (India), October 17: Divya Tandon, an IIDE Delhi student, was recognised for her inspiring upskilling journey at the 2nd Skill India Convocation Ceremony 2023. The event held on October 12, 2023 was organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in New Delhi.

The Education Minister - Dharmendra Pradhan & MSDE Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed them, talking about the importance of new age skills in India’s growth.

Divya, currently working as a social media strategist at NP DigitalIndia, was felicitated for her skills in the digital marketing domain.

Thrilled to have been recognised for her skills, Divya said, “It is an absolute privilege to be honoured by the Government of India. This is an inspiration to achieve greater things in life. A great deal of thanks to IIDE and the whole team for recognising my candidature.”

Born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Divya did her post graduation from Asian Academy of Film and Television, Film City, Noida. Then, she began her career as a copywriter before exploring the social media marketing field.

Explaining her curiosity about the advertising field, Divya said, “Ever since I was a kid, I have always been attracted to ads. I remember always staring at the Amul billboard ads for a little too long. However, when the time came for me to choose a career, digital advertising had grown massively in India. So I chose that field over traditional marketing.”

In just 2 years, Divya had seen so much change in the way advertising worked that she felt the need to upskill. She believes that the only thing constant is change, and one must adapt to it sooner.

That is when she decided to begin her upskilling journey with IIDE (Indian Institute of Digital Education).

Talking about her time at IIDE, she said, “I was looking to upskill with a course that would give me the right industry-relevant knowledge and I am happy to have found that at IIDE. From counselling to placement, people at IIDE Delhi are passionate about what they do and their energy is infectious.”

She also believes that the advertising industry has seen a massive change in the way they work with digitization. She said, “When sellers moved online, us marketers had to also learn how to advertise online. The coming years will see an increase in the number of jobs because of the growing demands for digital branding and marketing.”

Divya wants to encourage the youth to put emphasis on constantly updating their skill set (especially with digital skills) according to the demand of their respective industries.

IIDE is one of the institutes to have joined hands with NSDC (National Skills Development Corporation) to further NSDC’s initiative to skill India. They offer online certifications and postgraduate programs in digital marketing.
