Video: DRDO's Fighter Escape System At 800km/h In A Dramatic Visual

DRDO has successfully tested a high-speed fighter aircraft escape system at 800 km/h in Chandigarh. The dynamic trial was conducted at the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory's (TBRL) Rail Track Rocket Sled (RTRS) facility. The test proved critical safety processes necessary during a pilot bailout, including canopy severance, ejection sequence and complete aircrew recovery. 

The Ministry of Defence noted that such high-speed dynamic testing are more accurate than static trials and so represent the genuine baseline for evaluating fighter ejection systems. Due to the test's success, India is now one of a few countries that can do internal high-speed escape system certification.
