India Building Submarine To Guarantee Nuclear Revenge

INS Aridhaman, India’s third nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, is ready for commissioning after completing all trials. This 6700-ton underwater giant runs on an indigenous 83 MW nuclear reactor, giving it almost unlimited range and the ability to stay hidden underwater for months. Unlike diesel submarines that must surface regularly, Aridhaman can patrol silently and undetected. It carries twelve K-15 missiles with 750 km range or four longer K-4 missiles that can strike targets over 3500 km away, each armed with nuclear warheads. This combination provides India a credible second-strike capability: even if enemy missiles destroy land bases and airfields, Aridhaman will survive deep under the sea and launch a devastating counter-attack.With Aridhaman joining Arihant and Arighat, India now has three operational nuclear submarines. A fourth larger boat is already under construction. This growing underwater fleet ensures that no nuclear attack on India can ever succeed without massive retaliation, making any first strike suicidal. Built with over ninety-five percent Indian technology at Visakhapatnam, Aridhaman represents both strategic strength and self-reliance in defence.
