The Indian Navy has officially inducted INS Mahe, the first vessel of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, on Monday, November 24, 2025. The addition is expected to significantly enhance India’s coastal defence and anti-submarine combat capabilities.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi attended the commissioning ceremony as the chief guest, hailing the platform as a modern, fast and fully indigenous warship built to operate in shallow waters where larger naval ships cannot maneuver. The induction marks another milestone in India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
