Supporters of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan are staging massive demonstrations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi despite a ban on large gatherings under Section 144. The protests come amid rising concerns over Khan’s health, as the jailed PTI chief has reportedly had no communication with anyone for nearly a month.
To counter the demonstrations, authorities enforced Section 144 in both cities. The rallies, led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers, are taking place outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi—where Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023—and at the Islamabad High Court.
