The Government of India has sent shockwaves through the capital’s power corridors by ordering the ultra-exclusive Delhi Gymkhana Club to completely vacate and hand over its massive 27.3-acre prime land parcel by June 5, 2026.

Situated directly adjacent to the Prime Minister’s official residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, this iconic colonial-era estate is being reclaimed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs' Land and Development Office (L&DO). The government has officially declared that this premium real estate is "critically required" for securing national defence infrastructure and advancing vital public interest projects
