Prime Minister addressed the Lok Sabha during the debate on 'Vande Mataram', stressing its historical significance and how it served as a powerful act of rebellion against the British anthem 'God Save the Queen', which the UK tried to impose during colonial rule. He highlighted that even during the 1905 partition of Bengal, 'Vande Mataram' stood as a resolute symbol of resistance and unity. The Prime Minister also noted that the iconic song will complete 150 years of its inception in 2025, honouring the sacrifices of freedom fighters who upheld it as a call for independence.
