Ahead of the Winter Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a sharp reminder to the opposition, accusing them of converting Parliament into a platform for election theatrics and post-defeat frustration rather than nation-building. Pointing to the Bihar loss and upcoming state elections, Modi criticised parties for hijacking the House and silencing the voices of young first-time MPs. He remarked that there are “enough places for drama and slogans outside Parliament,” stressing that the House must focus on policy instead of negativity. Modi also suggested that opposition parties should improve their performance rather than use parliamentary proceedings to fight state-level political battles instead of discussing national priorities.
